👉Eternity Grow Cup Judging Criteria👈
Your grow will be judged across 8 different categories using a Judge Score Card. Ten judges will each evaluate your grow with a score card. Your total score is the sum of all 10 Judge Score Cards combined. The maximum possible score is 1,000 points.
The grower with the highest total score wins the Eternity Grow Cup 2026. The second-highest score wins second place, and so on
👉What happens in case of a tie?👈
If there’s a tie within the top 3 positions or between 10th and 11th place, the grow with the highest score in the “Overall Bud Appearance” category takes the lead. If it’s still a tie, the next deciding factor will be the “Trichome Density” score, followed by “Plant Development.”
👉De Judge Score Card👈
1. Plant development (start to finish) -- … / 15
2. Bud photo quality -- … / 10
3. Bud size -- … / 10
4. Trichome density -- … / 10
5. Overall bud appearance -- … / 30
6. Minimum 1 weekly update (text) -- … / 10
7. Minimum 1 weekly update (photo) -- … / 10
8. Smiley Harvest -- … / 15
All 10 judges will evaluate your diary, plant, and final results at their own discretion using this score card. Judging is based on your Grow Diary and photo material.
Check growdiaries.com/ for more information about the “Smiley Harvest” category.
👉Additional Information👈
- GrowDiaries reserves the right to remove accounts from their platform at any time without notifying the organization of the Eternity Grow Cup.
- The organization of the Eternity Grow Cup reserves the right to disqualify participants.
- Only the total scores of the Top 10 will be shared with all participants. Individual jury cards will not be shared.
- Only harvested buds will be judged
Good luck, and may the best bud win.

I’ve decided to skip the contest this year. Honestly, if last year’s competition had been judged fairly based on the scorecards, I’m confident I would have won. But after seeing how the judging was handled especially with last year’s “suitcase grower” situation I’ve lost faith in the process. It’s frustrating to see results being based on questionable criteria rather than actual performance. So, I’m officially done participating for now.

@DutchFarmer, @m0use We had multiple accusations from folks of quid-pro-quo as well last year. One thing is for certain though, is that last year the verbiage was about 'putting true skill to the test' and what not...this year we have more qualitative verbiage, like 'legend' and 'community' and 'craftsmanship'. So, let all participants expect that the judges want a repeat of 2025 winners with wacky grow setups, fun pictures posted not just on GD but directly to their other socials, and certainly no dried pictures for "harvest". Only big fat, wet on stem pictures for your final pictures...
To your point, I recall folks pointing out the environmental conditions for two of the winners last year the last few weeks of flower were in the 'oh shit im gonna mold for sure' range. I mean for weeks. It was clearly about 'community' and 'craftsmanship' last year but sold as a raw competition of skill.

@ATLien415, The contest is rigged as a casino game, the house always wins. 😂😂
Its not what you know, but more like who you know 😜

ATLien415 commented18d ago
@DutchFarmer, I agree with your sentiment. To be fair, it does seem like they are trying to implement some more quantitative changes this year. I think the real test will be in how the scorecards are applied. For example, the mold conditions for a subset of the winners last year, was quickly called out by nearly all expert-level user-cultivators in the contest. If I were a judge this year, I'd be on my toes to not get called out on grow technique/basics knowledge or scoring values lol

@DutchFarmer, when you try hard and don't succeed like you hoped. It is very frustrating and sad. Its unfortunate you didn't place.
But then throwing a fit and being toxic on the next years competition. And making fun AND insult other growers! (Who had nothing to do with shit!)
Come on y'all take the L like a man. Or whatever you identify as.
You both, should be ashamed of yourselves! @ATLien415

@Fatnastyz, Look, it’s cute that you’re over here giving TED Talks about “sportsmanship” like anyone asked. Maybe spend a little less time writing paragraphs about my behavior and a little more time figuring out why your plants still look like they were raised on vibes and wishful thinking.
If my grow was “mediocre,” you wouldn’t still be obsessing over how I pulled better numbers than you without even breaking a sweat. Fast Buds, slow buds, whatever I’m still out yielding you on my off days.
The only thing you’ve got on me is a loud opinion and a short memory.
So before you start lecturing me on how to act, maybe focus on getting your grow game somewhere north of average. When you finally catch up, then we can talk.
You stay in your fantasy world, I’ll stay in my kilo harvest reality.

@DutchFarmer, exactly what I figured, not a single intelligent thought. But thats quite funny, you said no one asked. Thats the entire premise of your child rant ON THIS YEARS COMP!
You're delusional and making up shit.
The contest was sexy bud! So keep sucking on that "apperantly" durable binky you got. That still being chaffed a year later. Best of luck 😻

@Fatnastyz, I am a little curious as to why you say my comments triggered you. Would love to allow you a safe space to let your emotions out. I had a great time in the EGC25, use my own grow as an example of how to mark scores negatively, have a 'we will send any seed you want because of how your diary looked' relationship with them, and have never said anything negative about the competition other than noting the allegations of quid-pro-quo with one judge and the disconnect between their stated scoring and their implemented scoring system last year. The only real question is why are you not looking at last year's competition objectively? The runners of the competition specifically call out how they have fixed these things. So to them, and to many folks on here, it was important. Why are you pushing back on scorecards and transparent judging?
Anyway, best of luck this year. Any competition with free nutrients is a win.

@ATLien415, appreciate the safe space! Although I feel like it might be disguised as a trap. 😂
My triggers are -grown adults complaining about 1 year old competition results.
Sexy bud, its subjective. I have no need to question the results. A group of companies put this together for the community. I'm very grateful that they care enough to!

@Fatnastyz, I appreciate your opinion, and understand your sentiment. Not a trap, genuinely confused why I got @'d and I guarantee that is a way to get my reply. Just ask 010101. If you read this thread from beginning to finish, then, you will observe me coming in an attempt to temper the extreme negative reaction our companion had. Some things that stay front of mind for me when discussing this are that (i) firstly, the competition runners have clearly put in a substantial amount of effort to combat the exact same issues the original poster had with this competition series and (ii) secondly, there is objectively such a thing as great bud. True, the exact verbiage 'sexy' was used as a placeholder in the summary of the competition last year. If you recall the exact competition description, that 'sexy' was holding the place of a lot of other words...including but not limited to something along the lines of 'the ultimate test of SKILL.'
So, taking it back to their actual verbiage and not a single placeholder meant to summarize paragraphs, where do you think (a) environmental conditions which mandate mold in X days or (b) allegations with DMs of quid-pro-quo with a non-competition-runner judge fit into the 'the ultimate test of SKILL?' This is where the binary nature of this topic comes into play...even if you just don't like grown men discussing nuances or particulars, whatever your flavor, all you're doing in short is condoning both (a) and (b). Again, I'll remind you that even the very people doing the actual running of the competition thought it needed to do things like a rubric for the judges this year...but you draw the line here...why?

@ATLien415, Yeah, sorry for the trap, that was a joke. I need to learn not to joke, in non-joke moments.
You were encouraging his toxic behavior, thats why I included you in the shame.
All in all, you said it yourself. You spoke to the organizers, you voiced your complaint. So leave it there, where it was addressed.
Elsa says, to Let it go!
😁Best of luck to you this year! Gonna have Broccoli out the WAZZOO!😽😁

ATLien415 commented10d ago
@Fatnastyz, Acknowledging someone in their moment to the untrained eye may be perceived as 'encouraging toxic behavior.' In general, beginning the introduction of contradictory information to a complainant with the acceptance of something from the complainant is a trivial debate tactic (to the extent this is how you would teach a freshman redshirt on any academic debate team, on how to debate with no training), basic psychology, and is a show of compassion to your fellow humans.
No shame thrown this way. Just views and likes. Thank you. And not to be pedantic, but I did not 'voice my complaints'...I simply read and reacted to the community's response to the competition...which is what the contest sponsors have done. I really dislike that we are at the place of me having to say that...when you COULD just refer back to the page yourself. Perhaps when your venture takes off and you are sponsoring such a competition, then you'll be in a better place to say what is appropriate to discuss relating to said hypothetical competition and if said would-be complaint is 'valid' for you...until then, I think the fact that every single bit of 'toxic complaints' were addressed speaks for itself (actions vs words argument) regarding the validity of each 'toxic complaint,' individually.
Hago lo que tiene razon y venga lo que venga👽🙌

@00110001001001111O, Do you have any ideas on how we can make it as fair as possible?
It is impossible for 10 judges to assess all the buds in real life, as the participants come from a large number of different countries.
We can only judge based on the diary and accompanying photos. Unless you have some great ideas that we haven't thought of yet.

@Plagron, it's all aribitrary anyway - it's a beauty/popularity contest, Just be consistent. If you are consistent, you can ignore the bitching, lol. My comment was more of a generalized dstatement. I don't even remember specifically what the problem was last time.
As far as assessing it all .. maybe you can make the job a bit easier by the judges by doing some common sense filtering of entries. Again, consistency is key and probably want to be on the forgiving side so the judges get a healthy sample to select from. You could do a running list of 'top' entries and if you keep it up incrementally, it's not a lot of work in any 1 sitting. Every week or 2 update your 'top' list... (may need to fiddle with exact procedure, but over time it'd work well). It'd help if you can filter by new entries on your end... common sense function of anythinkg with a dB backend, but may not exist 'here', lol.
most of my criticism above is directed at the peanut gallery. the 'frosty bud' comment was about the uktah contest. probably too strict with the 'shouldn't be allowed in' but defnitely shouldn't win and would be a good example of common sense filtering.
If it's too much work for the judges to do properly, lessen the load. Can always give them an option to peruse all of the participants, if they so choose, but a pared down list would probably be preferred.
Make some standards... maybe don't publicize it until you really hammer out the best way to filter or assess.. see how it goes 'quietly' under the table, then when you've tweaked the standards to your liking publish it with any contests info in future.

@Plagron, Hi I'm unable to join this year as I don't think I have the space, but have seen your comments about judging the contest. If its judged on finished harvested buds then may I suggest the growers pick the three best buds from the plant and take pictures of these buds, taking about 3 pictures of each bud from different sides of the bud. That way the judges should have 9 pictures of buds per diary to choose from. I feel sorry for the judges as the quality of work people are putting in is getting really competitive.

@Green_claws, We sincerely want to organize the fairest possible cup. We have no interest in who wins. Fair play is the only way to develop the Eternity Grow Cup into the biggest cup.
You can filter by the “oldest comment.” That contains the judge score card. That way you can see how diaries are judged. What do you think?
